Just a week before hitting the road, P.O.S. just made the heartbreaking announcement via Doomtree’s YouTube channel that he has to cancel his upcoming tour to promote his new album dropping next week, We Don’t Even Live Here. The reason? He’s got two bad kidneys, and can’t do dialysis on the road. (He will still be playing his scheduled First Avenue mainroom show next Friday.) The video ends with Stef saying, “That’s life, right? I’m sorry – I’m trying not to make light of it. I’m trying not to die – I feel fucking defeated over this” before a block of text saying “We’ll let you know how you can help soon.” Here’s hoping this will spur on a Twitter campaign to get P.O.S. a kidney, a la Chris Strouth. May we suggest the hashtag #getPOSakidney?
