This week is a big week in local shopping. Men’s shop martinpatrick3 celebrates its newly expanded space, STYLEDLIFE celebrates its sixth birthday, and home decor store Andrew Martin hosts its grand opening.
Thursday: martinpatrick3 Grand Reopening
What: Dapper men’s store martinpatrick3 is celebrating its recent expansion with a grand reopening party this weekend. They’ve taken over the ID Inside Design space to expand on their selection of menswear, home decor, gifts, grooming products, and all the accoutrements. Among the additions: a shop from highly-sought-after Australian bath and body collection Aesop, the first outpost of the brand in the Twin Cities. The sure-to-be-happening opening party includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and giveaways from its vendors.

Thursday-Sunday: STYLEDLIFE 6 Year Anniversary + Missoni and Robert Mantellassi Trunk Shows
What: Felice anniversario! This weekend, designer accessory shop STYLEDLIFE toasts its sixth year with its first-ever Missoni trunk show. The official birthday bash takes place on Thursday with a champagne toast at 7:30 pm, but they’ll be celebrating all weekend long with a vintage photo booth, designer trunk shows, complimentary cocktails, giveaways from their vendors, chocolates and treats, and exclusive trunk shows from Missoni and Robert Mantellassi, with designer reps on hand. With special pricing and champagne you might wake up the next day with a fashion hangover.

Thursday: Andrew Martin Grand Opening
What: What do the Queen of England, Madonna, Tony Blair and the Beckhams have in common? The fact that Martin Waller, founder of Andrew Martin, has decorated their homes. There are 60 showrooms all over the world and the one coming to Edina will be the seventh in the United States. Based on the concept of fusion interiors, mixing global culture and design, the Andrew Martin showroom is exquisite. Join Martin Waller himself for a cocktail or two at the opening celebration.

Thursday-Saturday: One Night One Mission
What: Founded in New York in 1996, Dress for Success started as an organization providing workwear to underprivileged women. There are now affiliates in over 13 countries serving 65,000 women. The Twin Cities chapter was launched in 2009 and has served over 1,000 women, and this weekend, they launch their first annual One Night One Mission this Saturday, a night of 40-plus coordinated fundraisers happening in the Twin Cities for the organization. With so many events you need to plan wisely. Check out a shopping party and benefit complete with refreshments and raffles for prizes from 11 am to 4 pm Saturday, October 13 at designer consignment shop Second Début (4300 W 32½ Street, St. Louis Park). Or maybe head to a party hosted by jewelry designer Stephanie Lake, Guild co-founder Pam Mondale and Dress for Success local chapter co-founder Julie Moss from 6 to 9 pm on Thursday, October 11 at Guild, where you can shop a curated collection of pieces for home and wardrobe, vintage designer clothing and antique furnishings for a good cause. Friday: Henri Bendel opens at MOA
What: Friday, the long-awaited Henri Bendel accessories store opens at the Mall of America. Known for its namesake line of colorful, eclectic handbags, jewelry and scarves, the shop will be celebrating on opening night with a champagne toast and a digital photobooth. Friday: Bettye Muller Personal Appearance & Trunk Show
What: One of the top women’s shoe designers in the world, Bettye Muller is coming to Minnesota for an appearance and trunk show at local designer shoe haven Pumpz & Co. The designer, known for her eye for detail, sense of shoe architecture and play on textures, will be offering a preview of her Spring 2013 collection, as well as the opportunity to shop her Fall 2012 line of her Italy and Spain-made loafers, wedges, pumps and stilettos, accented with capped toes, patent leather, wooden heels and crepe soles.

Friday & Saturday: Fun Sisters 10 Year Anniversary Bash

Saturday: Rox Jewelry Open Studio
What: I loved watching Robyne Robinson and her chic looks when she was an anchor on Fox 9 news. Now you can own her impeccable taste in the form of jewelry. Known for creating dynamic looks made of natural elements like wood, shells, fine metals and semi-precious stones her designs aren’t limited to women, guys can get Robinson’s style too. She is opening up her Rox jewelry studio for California Building’s Open Studio Saturday event. If you are looking for something worldly, Robinson just returned from a trip to Greece with lots of goodies.

Saturday: Handmade Harvest: An Indie Craft Fare
What: Pick up a little something for yourself or if you are feeling really nice two somethings. I know I should say get a gift for someone else, but that isn’t as fun. Knick knacks or a purse, a belt or maybe a tea pot, any and all types of crafts can be found at this fare.

Saturday: Runway to LA
What: As a send off to hairstylist Alex Thao and fashion designer Sai Chang they are going out in style and putting on a runway show and benefit. The girls are packing up and moving to California to pursue their dreams in hair and fashion. Part of the proceeds of this show will go to the girls but the other part will go to Hnub Tshiab: Hmong Women Achieving Together, which is an organization that helps to prevent violence and limit sexism in the community. The runway show features designs by Sai Chang and her line essee culture, Nonmala Xiong’s line Inspire, Sina Y’s SinaY.[Design].Collection, and custom lingerie by Teaser by Yuli, with hairstylies by Alex Thao. The festivities are rounded out by live performances and an after party DJ’d by YeeKon with Thee Krew. VIP tickets are sold out, but $12 general admission tickets are still available.
