Thursday: MOTTO Grand Opening
What: The Hennepin-Lake storefront that served as the home of designer boutique Intoto for over 20 years has finally found a new tenant. MOTTO opens its doors to the public on Thursday with a grand opening, and the lifestyle boutique promises a full shopping experience, offering women’s and men’s clothing, accessories, home and gift items, and an apothecary, as well as wardrobe consultation, personal shopping and interior design services. The opening bash includes complimentary champagne, beer and desserts; RSVP to info@shopmotto.com to attend.

Thursday: Vita.mn Poolside Fashion Show
What: The sixth annual fashion show will feature more than 40 summery designs of casual wear, evening wear and swimwear. A two-part poolside show will be accompanied by the tunes of local band Buffalo Moon. Following will be a show in the CBC Solarium as well as drinks and free apps while Jonathan Ackerman DJs. See designs by local boutiques like Cliché, Blacklist Vintage, Covered, martinpatrick3, and Nani Nalu, and retailers from the Mall of America including Lola, Desigual, Cotton On and Bettie Page. Styling the event is l’étoile’s own Jahna Peloquin with models from Vision and hair and makeup design by Jungle Red salon. The event is 21+. General tickets are $25 and VIP are $50.

Through Saturday: Shoot Yourself
What: Put those Instagram skills to work and you just might win a bowtie from the classy designer Jared Zachary. Slip on your to-tie-for ensemble of the season and snap a photograph of yourself (Yes, we’re condoning it). Cross your fingers and post your picture on the Freedom From Doubt fan page with hash tag: #ffdbowme. The winner will be selected at random.

Friday: 30% off sale at Grethen House

Saturday: Rummage & Bake Sale (Wedding Fundraiser)
What: The thrifters at Mighty Swell are downsizing their homes and bringing retro home decor, housewares and retro and modern kitchen goods to the 10th annual Standish, Ericsson & Corcoran Neighborhood garage sales. Sift through racks of markdowns in addition to the usual men’s and women’s vintage selection at the thrifty boutique. Enjoy some baked goods for the road, as a garage sale isn’t complete without sweets. Prices will adjust to move product, so haggle away. All proceeds go to Mighty Swell co-owner Rae’s wedding and honeymoon fund.

Now-July 8: The Summer of (Tennis) Love
What: If you love-love fashion, celebrate a summer of discounts inspired by a tennis charity event, the most important of the year for STYLEDLIFE. Mimicking points in a match, each tennis ball on the ‘court’ will conceal a prize: 15, 30 or 40% off purchases in the store. Receive a ball with a $3 donation, and play up to three times a day. The money raised at this sixth annual event will go to the American Cancer Society and Perspectives Family Center charities.
