New band alert! LaLiberte makes its internet debut

by Jahna Peloquin

We’ve heard rumblings of this project for some time – particularly with an unannounced, debut performance during the Cecil Otter-curated night during last December’s Doomtree Blowout – but it’s finally official, so says the internet. The electronic and vocal-oriented project comes from Maggie Morrison (Lookbook, Votel), Ben Clark (Votel), and Cecil Otter. The trio’s first official performance will happen May 25 at the Turf Club with Wiping Out Thousands and Basuketto, a new improv group from Ben Clark and his Votel bandmate Mark McGee. Listen to the first demo track, “Kelis,” on the band’s Bandcamp page or below.
